Great fun for old school gamers, works well on Mid
If you enjoy old school arcade games from the early-to-mid 90s (games along the lines of Metal Slug, Contra, Final Fight, and so on), then I am quite sure you will enjoy this nice little compilation. Gunforce II was developed by the same people who went on to leave Irem and make the Metal Slug series, so it is often considered to be "Metal Slug Zero" or a prequel of sorts.
It seems a few other reviewers had trouble playing this on their Macs, but I havent had any trouble so maybe the kinks have been ironed out or it was some kind of fluke. I have a Mid 09 MacBook Pro 13" running Snow Leopard 10.6.8, for what its worth. Opening and playing the games works fine. You can even use a game controller, if you have one. I have noticed a few minor bugs worth mentioning, and Id give the game a 4.5 if I could because of these (again, theyre minor). IF and only if you are at the "choose-a-game" menu, selecting Settings or Controls from the File menu will crash the program. Selecting these menu options while playing a game works fine, however. Overall, ABSOLUTELY worth the purchase, and $10 is a good price, especially since the Mac is short on arcade compilations that are Intel-native, and the app store is lacking in classic arcade packages. Highly recommended!
